This fall I will be going back to the 7 elementary schools that participated in the Bowie Elementary School Teams (BEST) Cricket League to teach cricket to the 4^th and 5^th graders again (Heather Hills, Whitehall, Kenilworth, Yorktown, Grace Christian, St Pius, and Rockledge). I will also be going to the schools that we did not get to last year and start cricket there as well (e.g., Northview, High Bridge, Pointer Ridge, Holy Trinity, Tulip Grove, etc).

I will also start introducing cricket to the middle schools (Samuel Ogle, Benjamin Tasker, Grace Christian, St Pius, and Kenmoor). Since many of the 5^th graders that participated in the BEST Cricket League last spring will now be at these schools, there is now a demand for middle school cricket.

So parents, I will need your help to get cricket started at the elementary schools that we missed and in the middle schools. Please talk to the PE teachers and have them send me an email if they would like to do cricket at your child’s school.

I am very close to having a real cricket pitch built at Rockledge Elementary School. This cricket pitch will be a concrete slab 74ft x 9ft covered with artificial turf. I have selected one contractor to lay the concrete slab and another to install the artificial turf (Albanes Landscaping, Inc). Both contractors have already been approved by PGCPS. I am hoping to have the cricket pitch built by the end of September. I will keep you informed on this.
